Description The aim of the First Aid Response (FAR) Instructor Course is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and instructional techniques to deliver and assess the PHECC First Aid Response course. Upon completion of the course, the student should be capable of training others to become First Aid Responders, using structured methods and following established guidelines. Who is the course intended for? This course is designed for those who would like to develop skills, necessary knowledge, and instructional techniques to deliver and assess the PHECC First Aid Response course. Entry Requirements: Valid PHECC First Aid Response (FAR) certificate A valid in-date CFR instructor certificate Minimum age: 18 years Duration: The initial FAR Instructor course is of 2 days duration. The FAR Instructor Standard includes tuition in instructional methods and a period of supervised teaching practice. Training Dates: Saturday 16th May & Sunday 17h May 2026 Training methodology: This course is a classroom based and instructor led with practical demonstration Assessment: The assessment criteria for this lesson will be both formative and summative. Skills may be assessed during the programme, with an SAQ on completion of the 2nd day. The format of the assessment has been aligned to PHECC criteria. Instructors will be assessed on: Delivering both theory and practical module of the programme Full set of FAR skills assessments A short SAQ: pass mark is 80% Supervised teaching practices* (After initial course has been completed) Accreditation/Certification: Individuals who successfully complete the 2-day FAR instructor course plus the additional supervised teaching practice and evaluation will be certified as a PHECC First Aid Response Instructor valid for 2 years.
